The Greatest Obituary
Here is Jesus’ obituary: “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-even death on a cross” (Philippians 2:8)
Jesus took on the nature of a servant – literally, a slave. He deserved to be served, but became a slave in order to fulfill the Father’s purpose.
What can we learn and apply?
1- Yield the right of way. A Christ-follower should be the one whose rights have been fully yielded to the Lord. We claim ownership of nothing, but simply acknowledge that we are stewards of all that God has given.
2- Run with the finish line in view. In the race of life, don’t grow weary or lose heart, because it’s all worth it.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. (Hebrews 12:1-2)
