Introducing our new Senior Pastor

Pastor Rick Rinde and his wife Candee.

Rick and Candee Rinde recently moved to Arizona from New Mexico, and are originally from San Jose, CA. They have three grown children and 2 grandchildren, all still living in New Mexico. Two of their children are in college. Their son, Shane, is a junior at Eastern New Mexico University, and their youngest daughter, Shaylee, is a sophomore at New Mexico State University. Their oldest daughter, Shanalynn, lives in northern New Mexico with her 2 children, Ryan (age 4) and Alanna (age 2).

Rick has been a pastor since 1998. After several years in the ministry and seeing our young men go off to fight in war, God moved Rick’s heart to join the military and serve alongside other soldiers who would give their life to defend our country. In 2006, at God’s leading, he joined the army. He first deployed to Afghanistan for 15 months as an airborne infantry soldier and was stationed in Vicenza, Italy. He then went on to become an EOD tech (army bomb squad), was stationed at Ft. Campbell, and deployed again to Afghanistan for 13 months. When his contract with the army ended in 2013, God called Rick back into the ministry. Rick’s passion is to lead believers into a deeper relationship with God, to help members discover, develop, and exercise their spiritual gifts, and to help the church accomplish God’s current mission for the congregation.

Candee was a Substitute Teacher for 13 years, a homeschooler for 3 non-consecutive years, enjoys digital scrap-booking and has a passion to serve the church. For 5 years she was the Executive Secretary for the Cimarron, New Mexico Chamber of Commerce, and businesses called on her to design their websites, flyers and brochures. She is currently resigning her position as the receptionist at the Desert Pines Baptist Association in Snowflake, AZ. in order to come and serve at Sonoita Hills Community Church.

  1. Welcome Rick and Candee!

God has brought you to a beautiful corner of Arizona and to a community and Church which will bring God’s Delight to you. I lived there for 10 years and have been gone for 10 years (Tempe, Arizona) but I would be mightily Blessed if God brought me back some day to the tall grass country of Arizona.

  2. Thanks so much for your comment Dave! We are excited to have Rick and Candee here to bless our church. The tall grass country of southern Arizona is a beautiful place to call home, what a blessed community we live in. If you make it back to our neck of the woods please worship with us!
