At the most basic level, there are only five ways to spend our money:

1. Live – our basic necessities (food, clothing, and shelter) plus all the “extras” we desire.

2. Give – what we give away to the church, non-profits, the poor, etc.

3. Debt – payments on what we have bought with money we don’t have.

4. Taxes – our obligations as citizens.

5 Grow – what we set aside and save for the unexpected and for a better future.

So, how are we doing? Because our resources are limited, we must allocate our resources against competing alternatives.

What does God say about our choices? “Unless the Lord builds a house, it’s builders labor over it in vain”. – Psalm 127:1.
