Our culture tells us that we should be discontented with what we have. Every day we are assailed by advertisements that try to convince us that our lives will be better if we owned whatever it is that they are selling.

In contrast, the bible offers us hope, encouragement, and contentment…even in the face of uncertainty. The bible gives us an eternal perspective. Ultimately, the things of this world have little value compared to the things of eternity.

When we value eternity, we realize that “enough” is found in God, not our personal wealth. Because God is “enough”, we always have “enough”.

Philippians 4:11-13 – “I am not saying this because I am in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength”.
