Ever been frustrated? Ever been tired? Ever just want to say “enough”? The reality is that helping others can wear us down. Why can’t we “fix” them? Why can’t they turn their life around?
Sometimes a very brief break is helpful. That break should be taken in the Word of God, so that God can recharge our batteries and at the same time remind us of what’s important to Him. God gave these words to us through the Apostle Paul: Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:9-10
So, let’s stay alert for the opportunities that God puts before us. Although we may need an occasional break for rest, let’s not get frustrated and mentally run down from helping others.
Let’s always remember that “doing good” is a divine directive…and that God says we are to especially take care of other Christ followers. Let’s not grow weary!
